To connect to PostgreSQL using the OLE DB Provider (driver) please follow the procedure below:

Start Excel

Open the Connection dialog: SQL*XL | Connect...

Start the Data Link Properties wizard

Data Link Properties

Choose the Provider PostgreSQL OLE DB Provider.

 

Data Source:
Enter the server name or address. I used 127.0.0.1 because I am running the database on the same PC as I run SQL*XL

Location:
Enter ther name of your database. I used littest, a test database I created with the pgAdmin utility

 

Always use the Test Connection button before you continue

After connecting to the database once you can reconnect by selecting the connection from the Connection History list and typing the Password.
